These pages are dedicated to the jewish family Raphalowiz, members of which lived until 1942 in the same house where I grew up in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
On these pages I tell what I have found out about these people. This way, I hope, they will be kept alive in our memories.
Starting here you can read where they lived, worked, married, got children, and where they died.
Attention is also paid to Julek Raphalowiz’s Shoah Testimony and to the petition which Henri Raphalowiz sent to parliament in 1932.
Also, genealogies of the Raphalowiz and Velleman families are given.
Some members of the family requested for naturalisation to Dutch. The archived files belonging to these requests provide additional information. Until now, I found four of such files. Some examples of items from these files are detailed on a dedicated page.
The probably only remaining pictures of Henri Raphalowiz and Josephina Velleman can be seen on the page Antwerpen en Berchem.
The website’s menu offers navigation links.
