These pages are dedicated to the Jewish family Raphalowiz, three members of which (Henri Raphalowiz, Josephina Velleman and their son Marcel Philip Raphalowiz) lived until 1942 in the same house where I grew up in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
At first, the focus of these pages was on these three persons. In the course of my research I have broadened this to the entire Raphalowiz family. On these pages I tell what I have found out about them. This way, I hope, they will be kept alive in our memories. On these pages you can read where they lived, worked, married, got children, and where they died.
The menu offers a choice of topics: pages dedicated to individual members of the family, genealogical tables of the families of Henri and Josephina, and further topics and navigation links.

On 1 June 2023 memorial stones were placed for Henri, Josephina en Marcel Philip Raphalowiz-Velleman near their last address. This placement seems (for me) a fitting, symbolic end to my research activities on this family. For the time being, this website remains available online, at least until the Dutch Royal Library (Koninklijke Bibliotheek) has archived the last final changes.
